Hello, all! Glad to have you back for another newsletter. 😊
What have I been up to?
I’ve been hard at work trying to do as much writing as I can now that I find myself with so much extra time on my hands. I’ve written Chapter 9 of my current novel project, and I’m also about halfway through Chapter 10. Chapter 10 has decided to put up quite the fight, unfortunately, so the last couple of days have been hairy. But I’ve got it on the ropes, I swear! 🥊
I also did some work on that epically long fanfiction that I mentioned to all of you last time! It was down to three chapters to go two weeks ago, and now it’s down to only one left!
I’ve been feeling really positive about all the writing I’ve accomplished lately, and I hope I’m able to keep this pace going strong while I have the time for it. 💜
My ongoing trilogy
Book #2 is getting closer to being finished! I have 12 chapters and an epilogue planned, so just a little bit more and I’ll finally have a full draft completed. Once I do, I can finally pivot my attention back to Shimmering Shadows to do some heavy editing and get it to the finish line. It’s still a little ways off, but as soon as I have a reasonable estimate for a publication date, I’ll let you all know!
Last week, I gave a teaser of the six potential poses for Shimmering Shadow’s cover to show the beginning of the creation process. And the option I selected—drumroll please—is Option #4! So this week, you lovely lovely folks get to see one of the earliest digital sketch drafts of the cover.
I know I’m biased because it’s my characters, but I was already floored when I saw this initial design (shout-out to my amazingly talented friend, Violet!), and I promise it only gets better from here! Next time, you’ll get to see another step down the line of perfecting the cover. 😁
What’s Remy been up to?
The adorable little stinky boy has definitely been enjoying having me home way more than I usually am, and I’ve enjoyed being here with him to have some extra cuddles and some extra laughs.
In other news
Been hitting the job search hard for the last couple of weeks since I lost my job. There’s a lot of opportunities out there, but also unfortunately a whole lot of people looking for jobs. And the process is made all the more stressful when your state’s unemployment process gets made all the more difficult than it needs to be. I had to undertake a 60+-mile roundtrip drive to prove I was who I said I was when filing for unemployment (literally handing my driver’s license to some man for him to say, “Yep, that’s you.” 😠), and then I had to spend time on two phone calls getting my first week of unemployment sorted out because my ex-company reported my final earnings incorrectly, which almost screwed me over on getting my first week of money that I need. Thankfully, though, it looks like everything should be smooth-sailing moving forward. 🤞
Also, the more exciting news: I have an interview next week! I don’t want to share too much because I’m afraid I’ll jinx it, but I’m really excited about the opportunity and hopeful, so please send some good vibes my way! I’ll let you know any updates I have in the next newsletter.
Also, third random “other new” item: I started a Tumblr blog as my first and quite possibly only social media site as an author. So far, it’s just an intro post and a couple of writing memes, but if you have Tumblr and want to follow me in a second location, you can find me here: https://www.tumblr.com/t-m-delaney

Help me grow!
I appreciate all of you who’ve subscribed to this rambling newsletter of a barely there author! 💜 If you feel up to sharing me and my thoughts to the rest of the world (or the little corner of it that you inhabit), I’d sure appreciate that too.
Sending you all the good juju 💗
