Hallo, dear subscribers!
What have I been up to?
Last update, I was having trouble with Chapter 10 of my novel. I’m pleased to report this time that not only did I conquer it, I actually ended up with so much content it became Chapters 10 and 11! So now the book is an expected 13 chapters with an epilogue rather than only 12.
Since accomplishing that feat, I’ve been working on plotting out the finer details of the final chapter of that big fanfiction story I’ve been writing since last June. It’s so close to being done; my readers are excited about it, and I’m excited about it. That said, seeing such a big, long project come to an end is going to be bittersweet; it’s been one hell of a journey. 💜
I’m going to focus on wrapping the fanfic up next so that I will have only one large project to focus on rather than two. 😅
My ongoing trilogy
I don’t have many updates I can report on for this trilogy beyond what I mentioned in the previous section.
Last week, we had a preview of an early sketch of the cover design for Shimmering Shadows. This week, let’s see a slightly more advanced draft!
A moment of silence for my friend, Violet, having to put up with me and my complete dearth of knowledge about drawing and art and the number of times she had to explain “base colors” to me. 😂
How’s it looking? Pretty cool to see some color added, right? Next time, we’ll see the final draft.
What’s Remy been up to?
I cannot stress enough how much I LOVE my baby boy.
In other news
No updates on the job-hunting front yet. 😞 I had an interview last Thursday but haven’t heard anything about the job yet. I’d really hoped I would hear something this week. I sent a follow-up email yesterday, but no response so far. Fingers crossed this opportunity will work out. I’m so tired of the job-hunt process.
Switching to a happier topic, I want to take a moment to recommend my friend Jacqueline “Jake” McCall’s Substack newsletter: jacquelinemccall.substack.com. Jake is a phenomenal storyteller who’s already published three books, has more in the works, and just started her author newsletter last week. You should absolutely go and check out her newsletter, her website, and her Instagram page!
(Also, Jake was super nice and sent me the first volume of a manhua version of my favorite danmei as well as a pair of pants with my precious kitty’s face all over them this week. Super kind, thoughtful, and generous of her, and I appreciate it so much.)
Finally, as a reminder from last week, I started a Tumblr page for myself if you’d like to follow me somewhere other than just here. In addition to posting links to my newsletter, I’m also sharing the occasional random writer memes/posts at the moment. Here’s a link: tumblr.com/t-m-delaney

I appreciate all of you who’ve subscribed to this rambling newsletter of a barely there author! 💜 If you feel up to sharing me and my thoughts to the rest of the world (or the little corner of it that you inhabit), I’d sure appreciate that too.
You're rocking this, lady! Keep going
